Choose your Trainings for Supervisors

Many supervisors do not understand how their decisions about employee issues can create liability, not only for the agency but also for themselves personally. This program will give supervisors basic information about employment law; plus skills and strategies for managing agency staff that can help to avoid employment litigation.

This is a great program for new supervisors learning the material, and seasoned supervisors needing a refresher!

This 2 day training is a part of our Winter 2022 Supervisory Series and is open for individual registrations.

About the presenters

Meaghan Murphy: Meaghan is an Associate in the Springfield office and is licensed in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. She brings six years of general litigation and Labor & Employment experience to Skoler Abbott. Meaghan regularly advises clients on various workplace issues, including discipline and performance issues, policy development and implementation, and compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. She looks to guide her clients toward reasonable, common sense solutions to workplace conflicts. Meaghan has successfully represented clients in state and federal courts, at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD), the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO), and other forums. Meaghan has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star since 2018.

John Gannon: John has defended numerous employers against claims of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful termination, as well as assisted employers in litigation avoidance strategies. John is a frequent speaker on employment-related legal topics for a wide variety of associations and organizations, and including appearances on Western Mass News and the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly podcast sessions. John was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star, an exclusive list recognizing no more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in Massachusetts. John currently serves as a board member for Riverside Industries, Inc., and the Chicopee Chamber of Commerce.
